February Ekoclub Houston Monthly Meeting

Our February General Meeting was successfully held at the Clubhouse in Houston, Texas, on Saturday, February 14, 2026.

The meeting also marked a significant milestone — the one-year anniversary of the Alaka Administration in office.

During the session, President Hon. Kunle Alaka Adekunle Alaka JP expressed his sincere appreciation to all members for their unwavering support and commitment. He highlighted several key achievements recorded within the past year, including:

• Strengthening the Spirit of Unity.
• Modernization and digital advancement initiatives.
• Increased inclusion and active participation.
• Enhanced social and family engagement.
• Establishment of a stronger Secretariat.
• Collective welfare-driven decisions.
• Financial transparency and accountability.
• Expansion of external relations and strategic growth.
• Ongoing infrastructure development and organizational growth.

All these and many other achievements were identified.

With the help and experience of Hon TJ Abass Aremo TJ Abass and some elders in the house, the Executive Council has established the central committees and other sub- committees to host the upcoming quarterly meeting in Houston, Texas. Each committee has been formally constituted, and the members have been duly announced.

The Board of Directors also presented newly proposed policies aimed at strengthening governance and improving the overall structure of the club.

Additionally, we received outstanding reports:

– The Financial Report, presented by Hon. Peter Awofodu.
– The Internal Audit Report, presented by Hon. Babalola Adebayo.

All committees delivered comprehensive updates and remarkable reports on their respective activities and progress.

We were honored by the presence of the President and Secretary of Eko Club International. President Dr. Lola Ogbara and Hon. Yeye Rokosu-Lawal. Hon. Dr. Lola Ogbara extended her heartfelt appreciation for the continued support and unity demonstrated by our chapter towards ECI.

It was indeed a memorable gathering at the Clubhouse — filled with fellowship, great food, refreshing drinks, and joyful camaraderie.

It is no doubt that differences in opinions were expressed by members. However, these differences were amicably resolved, unity was strengthened, and the spirit of togetherness prevailed.
